For such a busy month, I am still glad to be able to read 5 books this March. This month has been full of exams every week, so I hardly got time to really sit down and read something non-academic. But I was able to manage to sneak in a few chapters everyday so I can read something wonderful aside from my Anatomy, Physiology, and Biochemistry transes lol.

I know it’s a bit late, but I just had the time to write this post! Exams got in the way lol.
BOOK WRAP UP
January has been a great reading month for me, because I didn’t have classes until the 22th, so I was able to sneak in a lot of books during my Christmas break. I will only be including the books I’ve read for this month, not counting the ones I’ve read last December 2017.

I challenged myself to read 90 books when 2017 came. I thought I was able to complete it early, but when I started my first semester of med school, I struggled to even read a single novel because I was so piled up with schoolwork and I didn’t have much time to do leisurely reading as I would have preferred to spend my free time to review my lessons. But luckily, I also go my very own Kindle Fire, so I had it everywhere with me and I’ve been able to read when I have some dull time. It helped me so much!

It’s this time of the month again! Presenting to you – my July Book Haul and Wrap Up! I won’t be listing down my August TBR since my TBR pile has become unmanageable, and I’ll probably pick up books that I feel like reading. In the past week, I’ve been in a huge historical fiction vibe, ever since I finished The Bronze Horseman. So you guys might notice the noticeable number of historical fiction novels in my July Haul.

June has been a successful reading month for me, compared to May where I only read 2 books the entire month. Not only was I able to get out of my book hangover through my discovery of new and very interesting books, but June has also been the month where I bought A LOT OF BOOKS! So I’ll be featuring both my June Wrap-Up and Book Haul, together with my July TBR.
I read a total of 6 books, comprised of 4 novels, 1 reread book, and 1 novella. I’m going to post the book reviews of those I haven’t written yet sometime soon.
JUNE BOOK HAUL
My June Book Haul is probably my biggest book haul so far in 2017. I got a total of 9 books, and I’m actually still waiting until now for my Book Depository orders and this other book I’ve just ordered yesterday from a local seller. I’ll just include those in the next month. My wallet is literally crying right now because of all the hoarding I’ve done this month. I bought most of these books from secondhand bookstores and local sellers, but the others are brand new and I got from bookstores – most of them were on SALE! I would never pass on the opportunity when books are on sale.
I have both City of Lost souls and City of Heavenly Fire on my list even though I’ve read them already. They’re the two books that I’ve been looking for years since I couldn’t find any of the old covers in bookstores.
- City of Lost Souls by Cassandra Clare (I got this on sale for only P245! and it’s hardbound!)
- Seeker by (I also got this together with CoLS and it was only P199!)
- An Illustrated History of Notable Shadowhunters and Denizens of Downworld by Cassandra Clare and Cassandra Jean (The hardbound copies were on sale!)
- A Torch Against the Night by Sabaa Tahir
- Assassin’s Heart by Sarah Ahiers
- City of Heavenly Fire by Cassandra Clare
- The Bronze Horseman and Tatiana & Alexander by Paullina Simons
- Claire de Lune by Christine Johnson
While I still have a lot of unread books in my bookshelves and my massive June Haul, I only bumped up 3 books for my TBR list on July! These stories are the ones I’ve been dying to read for a long time, so they are my top priority. So these are:
As of today, I’m also currently reading:
- The Untouchables by J.J. McAvoy
- Her Kind of Boss by Kayla White
- Blood Rose Rebellion by Rosalyn Eves
Tell me about your favorite June reads and hauls!
April has been a tough month for me to read, knowing that May is coming and two of my most anticipated books of 2017 are coming out on my birthday month *coughs* ACOWAR and Lord of Shadows *cough* But nevertheless, I’ve manage to squeeze in a few books!
- Frost like Night by Sara Raasch – 5/5
Now let’s move on to my May TBR! Like I said in a previous post, I don’t do TBRs, but since May is a very special month to me, I have a specific TBR list in my mind and which I promise to do before the month ends.
- A Court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J. Maas
This is my #1 anticipated book of 2017, and with good reason! If you are following my Tumblr blog, I’m sure you all know that I’m a huge huge fan of the series, especially ACOMAF. With the way how ACOMAF ended, it was a very torturous wait until ACOWAR. I need to know what happens next to my babies, especially Rhysand and Feyre and the other members of the Inner Circle! I’m just freaking excited that it’s coming out on May 2nd, and I don’t have to wait too long to grab a copy.
2. Lord of Shadows by Cassandra Clare
This beauty comes out on my birthday, May 23rd! This is the second book of The Dark Artifices by Cassandra Clare, and I’m a huge fan of the Shadowhunter Chronicles since I was in high school. I’ve loved the first book a lot, especially the very witty and diverse characters, and I want to know immediately what happens next after Lady Midnight finished off. I am also in love with all the Blackthorns, and they’re the best Shadowhunter family (apart from the Herondales).
Other books that I want to read next month would be:
- Always and Forever, Lara Jean by Jenny Han
- Flame in the Mist by Renee Adhieh
- The Winner’s Crime by Marie Ruthoski
- Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor
- Caraval by Stephanie Garber
- The Beauty of Darkness by Mary E. Pearson
How about you guys? What’s your best read book in April? What’s your anticipated reads for May?
